Bradford-based chartered accountants Watson Buckle have launched a foundation aimed at providing funding for local sporting projects.

The Watson Buckle Foundation was born out of the successful London Olympics and provides the opportunity for clubs, groups, associations and schools seeking financial assistance for Olympic Legacy projects to bid for cash grants of up to £1,000.

Susan Sedgwick, managing partner at Watson Buckle said: "With last summer being one of the most successful and exciting periods of sporting prowess that Britain has ever experienced, the team at Watson Buckle was inspired to create some Olympic magic of our own.

"As a result of our Foundation, we hope to encourage generations of young people to participate in sporting activities, enabling them to live active and healthy lives.

"We also hope that, along the way, we can help support the stars of the future, empowering them to live their Olympic dreams."

To receive funding from the Watson Buckle Foundation, applicants will need to apply in writing by completing an online or hard copy application form, available to download from

In order to be successful in their application for funding, candidates will need to clearly demonstrate how the cash will be used to support Olympic Legacy projects, as well as agreeing to press and online promotion of their activity.
